Bookings shall be made in writing to kexhostel@kexhostel.is or through the website booking form.
Please include all necessary details for us to ensure maximum efficiency.
We will confirm your booking within one business day.
For group bookings, a status list must be sent 8 weeks prior to arrival and a confirmed name list must be sent 4 weeks prior to arrival.
Individual Policy (1 - 9 people): Full amount of the reservation is charged 3 days prior arrival, on the card provided as guarantee. If the payment is declined, KEX Hotel reserves to right to cancel the booking and to notify the guest. KEX Hostel will issue an invoice for the full amount on the date of arrival.
Group Policy (10 people or more): we kindly require a 30% deposit at the time of booking to confirm the reservation. Full payment must be paid at least 4 weeks prior to arrival, or upon confirmation if booked within 4 weeks of arrival. In the event that the payment is delayed, KEX Hostel reserves the right to cancel the booking and withdraw its confirmation of services.
Cancellations must be sent in writing to KEX Hostel and are only valid if confirmed in writing by KEX Hostel.
In accordance with standard practices of the Icelandic travel industry, the following cancellation fees apply:
Notice of cancellation – Individuals (1 – 9 people):
Less than 72 hours prior to arrival or no-show: 100% of the value of the reservation.
In the event of a no-show the remainder of your reservation will be cancelled automatically.
Notice of cancellation – Groups (10 or More):
Less than four weeks prior to arrival: 50%.
Less than 1 week prior to arrival: 100%
KEX Hostel reserves the right to modify its rates for economic purposes, such as currency fluctuations, inflation, or an increase in supplier costs. Any changes in rates will not retroactively affect bookings that have already been confirmed by KEX Hostel.
In the event that KEX Hostel, under exceptional circumstances, is unable to provide the client with the agreed rooms on arrival, KEX Hostel shall locate another room of equal or superior quality at no extra charge. This shall be done only with the agreement of the client.
All parties agree that the venue and jurisdiction regarding any matter related to these terms and conditions shall be where KEX Hostel is located, and the laws of Iceland shall govern.
Smoke inside the hostel is forbidden. A fee of 35.000 ISK will be applied in case of breaking this rule.
